Lab tests that our online doctors can request are:

1. Blood tests. This involves the removal of blood from your vein using a small, hollow needle. The doctor may need to place a tourniquet (stretchy band) around your arm to locate a strong vein for the procedure. Once the collection tube has been filled with blood, they will remove the needle. The process should be completed in under ten minutes. Blood tests can be used to assess for a variety of conditions, such as cell counts, presence of electrolytes, protein, organ function, and more.
2. Ultrasounds. This medical test uses high-frequency sound waves to take live images of the inside of the body. Organs, vessels, and tissues can be viewed, all without the use of radiation. The online doctor may request an ultrasound if you describe symptoms such as pain or swelling associated with any organs.
3. X-rays. This is also an imaging test that is used to view the inside of the body, but this method does use radiation so the doctor will choose to use at their discretion. They may suggest an X-ray to examine a painful area or in the identification of diseases. These can include breast tumors, cancers, digestive problems, broken bones, and more.
4. Sexual health. There are a variety of tests for sexual health, depending on the symptoms or suspected condition. These include taking swabs, giving blood, providing a urine sample, or having an internal exam. The online doctor will make a recommendation based on your consultation.

If your doctor feels you need a more specialized test, then they can requisition that as well.
